Kb Port has been getting numerous calls in regards to people who have recording systems, other than the ETC, who would like to either trade or convert their existing system over to an ETC. We would be happy to discuss either option. In both cases, we would need to know what type of system that you would want to change or replace. We will need to know how the system is currently being used and what peripheral devices are connected. In some cases, due to the type of hardware and/or age of the hardware, only a trade would work. What is the ETC?

The ETC is the video server where you store all of your simulation movies.

How many cameras can each ETC have?

The ETC can have up to 4 cameras. Most people use three cameras and use the fourth space on the ETC for their patient monitor.

How many PTZ cameras can you have?

You can have up to 4 PTZ cameras. You can only control one at a time.

Can I use any PTZ camera?

Our software can only control the PTZ camera that we sell.

Can I view the movies from my office or from a classroom?

You can view the movies from anywhere on the network as long as you have the IP address of the ETC and the ETC is on the network.

Can I use any hi resolution USB camera?

You can only use the hi resolution USB cameras that we sell.`

How much recording space is on the ETC?

The ETC can store about 120 hours of video, depending on the resolution and the number of cameras that you use.

What can I do when the ETC hard drive is full?

You can backup your movies onto a USB drive, DVD, or to a network drive.

Can I take a movie with me to view on my computer at home?

When you do a backup of a movie you will automatically download a player to your USB drive or DVD that will allow you to watch the movie on your home computer.

What manikins will the ETC work with?

The ETC will work automatically with both Laerdal and Gaumard manikins using our Simlink software. If you use the ETC with any other manikin you will have to record manually.

Can I use my own laptop for the Client computer?

You can use your own laptop, but your laptop must be capable of 1280x1024 resolution to view our software.

What is the password to access the ETC?

The default password is “admin”

How much does software updates cost?

Software updates for the ETC are free.

What kind of warranty do I get with the laptops?

The laptops come with Dell’s 3 year Complete Care Warranty.
