Kb Port’s ETC Technology Draws Attention In The World Of Paranormal Investigation.
The SyFy Channel has a hit on their hands with the Ghost Hunters program. And thanks to the continued involvement of Kb Port LLC, the show is poised to become more exciting than ever. Over the past year, Kb Port’s ETC technology has been used by the stars of Ghost Hunters and their peers at The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS).
Kb Port’s involvement with these two groups is no accident. In fact, Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, and Britt Griffith of TAPS have performed extensive field testing with the ETC. In their time with the product, they’ve thoroughly familiarized themselves with the equipment to provide Kb Port with valuable feedback concerning the strengths of the ETC.
While the technology was originally designed for medical training simulations, its feature set suits it perfectly for use in the realm of paranormal investigation. Specifically, temperature, barometric pressure, humidity and EMF readings can be tagged to individual audio and video recordings—allowing the ETC to log large amounts of data while remaining synchronized. Additionally, the ETC allows users to manually flag an event during live recordings or during post process—especially useful for paranormal investigators who wish to mark a specific moment in a recording for future reference.
The most important feature of the ETC, however, is its adaptability. According to partner Susan Redmond, “The team here at Kb Port is constantly looking for new ways to evolve the ETC technology. We’re in close correspondence with paranormal investigators who help us evolve the ETC to better tap its potential in the emerging world of paranormal investigation.” Today, new sensors and features for the ETC are being tested by the TAPS team.
Paranormal investigation is just one of the many markets Kb Port is exploring for their ETC technology. Susan Redmond adds, “We know we’ve made a great medical simulation product; now we know it’s also useful to paranormal investigators. Our next objective is to bring this technology to additional markets.” The ETC is already being used in psychology research and counseling and reports indicate that interest is expanding. Even the Department of Defense has inquired about the company’s exciting line of products.
